CUSTOMS REGULATIONS
 
Arrival: Duty Free are all used and personal items you bring with you. This includes all brought: cameras, video, computers, radios, audio equipment, opera glasses, and jewellery, no matter what value these items have.
Also duty-free and tax-free are food and beverages such as 1L.of spirits, 1 pack of cigarettes and medicines for your own use. If you take more when you arrive, you probably have to pay taxes.
For Medicines containing alcohol or narcotics, such as tramadol, you may introduce in small quantities and only with medical certificate.
If you buy products in duty-free shops, they must not exceed the value of $200, otherwise you will pay duty Fees.
 
Departure: You can take back all the things that you brought with you when you arrived and that are mentioned in your customs declaration. You may also take gifts and souvenirs, provided they are purchased for private use and are not for Trade.

• Private opening in the Giza Pyramid

• Grand Egyptian Museum

• Step Pyramids of Sakkara, Pyramids of Onas, Private Tombs

• Temple of Abydos, Nile Cruise

• Temple of Dendera (Hathor temple)

• Temple of Luxor and Karnak

• Optional Hot Air balloons over the Westbank of Luxor. Valley of the Kings and Temple of Hatshepsut (EUR170 each)

• Temple of Edfu

• Double Temple of Kom Ombo

• Special opening for Isis Temple, unfinished Obelisk

• Free day or optional tour to the Temple of Abu Simbel (EUR170 each)

VISAS

• European, US, Australia, New Zealand, UK passport holders:

As soon as you arrive at the airport, the tour guide can take you to the counter, where you purchase it for $25 USD
 

• Passport holders from other locations: You will need to arrange your own Visa
 

EXCHANGING MONEY 

• Currency can be exchanged locally upon arrival.

• You will need local currency for tips, toilets and some souvenir shops

• Debit/Credit card accepted for most other places (e.g. cruise ship, hotel, and large jewellery stores.)   
 

TIPS

• At the start of the trip, we will collect 125 Euros each for the group activities.

WIFI 

• The WiFi is not great (even if additional WiFi is purchased; i.e. on the Cruise ship). 
 
If you want to be online, or to call home, it is advisable to buy an Egyptian SIM card for the 2 weeks at the airport.
 
WHAT TO BRING

• Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses

• Hand sanitiser, Small roll of toilet paper, Wipes (not all places have water or toilet paper)

• Power adapter for Egypt (its a standard European 2 pin plug)

• Power bank to recharge your phone

• Lightweight bag/small backpack

• Torch (flashlight) 
 
CLOTHING 

• Bathing suit/shorts

 • Scarf or shawl

• Light down jacket, Parka, Hoodie, Sweater (temperature can be cold in mornings and evenings)

• There is no official dress code in Egypt for tourists but modest light and breathable clothing recommended

• Sturdy comfortable shoes
